TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Using social media and technology to advance small businesses is a no-brainer in today's technology-driven world. To help local businesses learn how to be more successful through technology, Westchester County Executive, Robert P. Astorino, along with Putnam County Executive, MaryEllen Odell, and the African American Advisory Board will hold a Connections for Success Summit on Tuesday, March 22 in Tarrytown.

The event, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Double Tree Hotel, is designed for small business owners and entrepreneurs. Speakers and classes will focus on how technology and social media can be used to help career advancement, particularly for women and minorities.

The summit will feature two powerful African American women keynote speakers, including Monique L. Nelson, chairwoman and CEO of UniWorld Group, Inc., and Desiree Watson, CEO at Wellness Interactive, Inc.

“I’m proud to say that the Connect for Success Summit is back by overwhelming popular demand,” County Executive Rob Astorino said.

The summit is open to all small businesses, non-for-profits, government entities, exhibitors/vendors, private corporations and job seekers.

Summit participants will be served breakfast and lunch. A reception follows that will offer networking and other recreational activities.

The Double Tree Hotel is at 455 S. Broadway.
