WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Danielle Dallacco never planned an acting career while growing up in Greenburgh, playing softball, going to school and working through that awkward stage between childhood and adolescence.

Greenburgh's Danielle Dallacco is featured in the film "Jersey Shore Massacre" which debuts on August 19.

But the 24-year-old Wagner College graduate has made a quick transition from theater and dance while a student at Maria Regina High School to college a movie career. She is starring in her first feature film, the horror-comedy "Jersey Shore Massacre" from Executive Producer Jenni Farley, best known as "JWOWW" from the MTV hit series Jersey Shore.

"I had braces, was kind of gangly and not very confident growing up, so i played sports and tried to use my sense of humor to fit in," Dallacco said. "I got involved in theater, dance and doing local shows for non-profits (Westchester Dreamcoats) before going on to college where I trained at Wagner."

Now easily defined as an "the pretty girl" for casting directors, Dallacco says she tries to ignore the idea that she is the "attractive girl in the movie" while being grateful she has gotten an opportunity to show her acting skills.

"You can't just be pretty, so I kind of model myself after actresses like Meryl Streep, who have beauty but have worked to become great actors," Dallacco said. "(Massacre) was a challenge because horror (comedy) requires so many moods -- ups and downs. You have to be funny, romantic, screaming scared, thoughtful. We had a great crew and I learned so much."

The film (trailer here) explores a day in the life of Teresa (Danielle Dallacco) and her girlfriends when they leave their suburban New Jersey salon for a weekend of sun and sin down the shore. The girls hook up with five fist-pumping delinquents who find themselves thrown out from a seaside bar for inciting a dance floor brawl. The group winds up at Teresa’s uncle Vito’s hideaway in the New Jersey Pine Barrens. One by one, the body count rises at the hands of a killer.

Written and directed by Paul Tarnopol, the film also stars Giovanni Roselli of White Plains, Sal Governale (The Howard Stern Show), Richard Christy (The Howard Stern Show), Bigfoot (The Howard Stern Show) and Ron Jeremy.

Dallacco’s television roles include NBC's “Law & Order: SVU,” Hulu's new original series “Deadbeat,” and MTV's new series “One Bad Choice.” She has appeared in “Touching is Teaching,” “Brooklyn Valentine” and “Lily & Kat,” starring Hannah Murray from HBO's “Game of Thrones.”

Commercially, Danielle was the new Pepsi girl in a national advertisement which premiered during the 2013 MLB All-Star Game.

The world premiere of "Jersey Shre Masscre" will be on Tuesday, August 19 at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater in New York City and exclusively on DirecTV. The film will begin a limited engagement on Friday, August 22 at the Kew Gardens Cinema in Queens, N.Y. and will be available on DVD, Blu-ray, iTunes, Time Warner, Comcast and all other Video On Demand platforms on Tuesday, August 26.
