Valhalla Train Crash Prompts SUV Driver's Husband To Fight For Change

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Ten months ago, Ellen Brody, 49, of Edgemont, drove her SUV onto the railroad tracks in Valhalla, just as a Metro-North evening express train was heading her way. The violent collision killed Brody, plus five passengers on board the train.

Now, her husband, Alan Brody, is fighting for justice for his wife, and those who died in the crash, said lohud.com.

Many people blame his wife for stopping on the tracks, but Brody claims the crossing is poorly lit and hidden between a cemetery, and he wants to come up with a fix to prevent another tragedy. He said the crossing looks fine during the day but at night it becomes a “black hole," reported lohud.com.

Alan Brody also wants his day in court. He is suing the railroad, its parent agency, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Westchester County and others, said lohud.com
