The Bristal At White Plains Honors Veterans Who Served In World War II

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The Bristal at White Plains honored 13 of its residents who are veterans of the Second World War to commemorate the 70th anniversary of VE-Day (May 8, 1945), which marked the end of the war in Europe.

The 13 veterans were recognized in a ceremony attended by Bristal residents and City and County officials. White Plains Mayor Thomas Roach presented a proclamation honoring the veterans.

Ron Tocci, director of the Westchester County Veteran Services Agency, presented each of the veterans with a Westchester County Certificate of Service as well as service medal.

The veterans, who range in age from 86 to 97, are: Leonard Anker, Lou Centazzo, Martin Finn, Abraham Greenberg, Max Jacobowitz, Nicholas Kemeny, John Lloyd, Danny Mast, Joe Rigelhaupt, Morton Teicher, Fred Thomas, Pasquale Vecchione and Ed Weisberger.
