Temperatures Expected To Drop In White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – With temperatures expected to drop to single digits Wednesday night and Thursday night, the National Weather Service is advising residents to take extra precautions when going outside and to ward off frozen water pipes.

Residents looking to warm up may visit the city senior center, which offers free hot lunch Monday through Friday beginning at 11:30 a.m. The senior center is at 65 Mitchel Place, and you are asked to make a reservation by calling 914-422-1423.

The temperature is expected to drop to 7 degrees Wednesday night with scattered flurries and winds of 5 to 9 mph. It will warm Thursday afternoon to 21 degrees and winds of 19 to 24 mph and gusts as high as 37 mph.

Thursday night’s low will be about 7 degrees. On Friday, there is a chance of snow after 4 p.m. and likely continuing until 2 a.m. The high will be near 23 degrees and the low near 18 degrees.

More snow is expected Saturday before 10 a.m. with a high near 27 degrees. Saturday night will be partly cloudy with a low near 13 degrees. The sky should clear up Sunday with a high near 31 degrees and a low of 19 degrees.
