School officials confirmed that the student, whose name was not released, was taken to the Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx with injuries after kicking in the window pane shortly before 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, though he will reportedly require surgery. Students at the high school were temporarily held in their classrooms while crews cleaned up the scene and the student was taken away in an ambulance. They then resumed a normal schedule and dismissed as normal.
