Strong Winds, Heavy Rains Cause Power Outages In Westchester

Strong wind gusts and heavy rains resulted in nearly 1,000 Westchester residents being without power Friday evening.

The hardest hit areas were along the coast. There were more than 350 Con Ed customers without power as of 10 p.m. 

North Castle reported nearly 100 power outages with around 50 being reported in Greenburgh.

Rain will continue into Saturday, with some sleet at times in the morning, with rain tapering off early in the afternoon. The high temperature should hit 40 but the wind-chill factor will be between 25 and 30 with gusts up to 30 mph. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent. Saturday night will be cloudy, with a low around 32.

The area will see a break in the gloomy weather on Sunday, which is expected to be sunny with a high near climbing to the low-50s. Sunday night will be clear, with a low near freezing.
