WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- ShopRite recently donated 200 turkeys and 30,000 canned vegetables to the Food Bank for Westchester.
The Food Bank for Westchester serves more than 265 local hunger-relief programs throughout Westchester, including food pantries, soup kitchens, child and adult day-care centers and shelters. The food bank provides 95 percent of all the food given to hungry families, children and seniors as cooked meals or groceries to take home.
It's important to remember not everyone is fortunate enough to afford a big turkey and all the trimmings on Thanksgiving. Yet, thanks to the Food Bank for Westchester and ShopRite, the food bank is once again working to make sure every family has the chance to sit around the table and give thanks, together.
ShopRite's donation will go a long way toward making sure everyone has a Thanksgiving to remember.
