Scarsdale Ranked Among Safest Places To Live In New York

SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Scarsdale was recently ranked as the 12th safest town in New York by home security vendor Safe Choice Security.

Safe Choice examined statistics that included violent and property crimes in order to rank the municipalities throughout the Empire State.

The village of 17,000, boasts just .12 violent crimes per 1,000 and 8.28 property crimes per 1,000.

Overall, Scarsdale was rated as safer than 83 percent of U.S. cities.

Briarcliff Manor was rated safest in New York and safer than 98 percent of cities in America.

Other Westchester towns included Pleasantville (No.4), Rye Brook (No. 7), Bronxville (No. 8), Harrison (No. 10), Tarrytown (No. 11), Croton (No. 13), Mamaroneck, (No. 14), Sleepy Hollow (No. 16), Hastings (No.17), Rye (No. 19), Peekskill (No. 22), Dobbs Ferry (No. 24), Eastchester (No. 25) Mount Kisco, (No. 27), Ossining, (No. 28).
