Rock 'n Blues Fest Headlined By Johnny Winter

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – The Rock 'N' Blues Fest at the Westchester County Center on Aug. 12 will be headlined by guitarist Johnny Winter, according to a press release.

The Grammy-nominated bluesman played at Woodstock and jammed with icons such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Stevie Ray Vaughan, among others. He produced and played on Muddy Waters' Grammy-winning comeback album "Hard Again," "I'm Ready" (1978), "Muddy Mississippi Waters Live" (1979) and "King Bee" (1980).

Winter was inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame in 1988, and even had his trademark guitar released by Gibson Guitars as the Johnny Winter Firebird guitar.

He released his latest album, "Roots" in September with Megaforce Records, which pays homage to the blues heroes who influenced him. Winter is still activley touring across the globe and does up to 120 shows per year, according to the release.

Throughout 2012, he will be shadowed by filmmaker Greg Olliver, who is producing a documentary on the blues guitarist that is planned to be released in 2013.

Joining Winter Aug. 12 will be the Edgar Winter Band, Rick Derringer, Mountain's Leslie West and Savoy Brown's Kim Simmonds.

Tickets can be bought online and cost between $46.50 and $59.50, $79.50 for VIP and $149.50 for VIP plus a meet and greet. They also can be bought at the County Center box office, open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. 4 p.m., on, or by calling Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000.
