WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Detectives have turned to video surveillance from stores surrounding the Key Bank Thursday in search of the man who robbed the 188 E. Post Rd. bank Wednesday afternoon.
Police have access to video surveillance from the White Plains bank, neighboring shops, and city cameras, according to Lt. Eric Fischer, who commands the Detective Division.
A male hiding his face behind what police believe to be a red bandanna and wearing black gloves walked into Key Bank at 4:08 p.m. Wednesday, approached the teller, and left with about $2,000 cash in hand.
No weapon was openly displayed and nobody was injured. However, Fischer said he couldn't disclose whether the man threatened to use a weapon or violence because it was a key part of the investigation.
Police said the suspect, who was wearing a long-sleeved blue shirt and New York Yankees cap, likely walked into the store and ran out. They believe the robbery was the work of one man.
