WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- With 47 percent of precincts reporting as of 11 p.m., Mayor Tom Roach is leading challenger Cass Cibelli, 76 percent to 24 percent.
Roach, a Democrat, was appointed mayor in February 2011, following the resignation of Adam Bradley. Roach won a special election in March 2011.
Democrats also were running away with the city council race. Democrats Beth Smayda, John Martin and John Kirkpatrick each have 21 percent of the vote. Republican challenger Claudia Murphy has 14 percent, while Anne Encarnacao has 12 percent and Carl Albanese has 11 percent.
