Program Brings White Plains Youth, Seniors Together

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – The City of White Plains will bring its youth and seniors together to share their experiences with one another and produce more well-rounded citizens through the free Inter-generational Program.

The city’s Youth Bureau and Department of Recreation and Parks Senior Program are partnering to bring the different generations together to participate in activities and learn a thing or two from each other in the process.

The program will provide positive role models for the youths and an opportunity for seniors to give back to the community.

“A natural outgrowth for both the adults and youth in the program is that the interactions often broaden one's views and perspective on life and the world we live in,” a city press release said.

The Intergenerational group meets from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays beginning Jan. 9 at the Recreation and Parks Community Center, 65 Mitchell Place.

Seniors will have bus transportation provided at the end of the day.
