WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Portions of Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains will be closed through Aug. 15, the city announced Wednesday.
Construction will be between Martine and Maple avenues. Phase One of the construction will begin July 31 with preparation work for nighttime milling and paving. This work will occur between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. The street will remain open to traffic, but lanes may be restricted as well as on-street parking.
Phase Two will begin after the completion of preparation work. Existing pavement will be removed and replaced. This will occur between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m.
In the evenings, the street will be open to traffic but motorists can expect closed lanes and limited street parking.
To avoid traffic, motorists are advised to seek alternate routes. Construction will not occur on Thursday, Friday or Saturday nights.
