WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A White Plains man was accused of threatening to stab a woman’s car tire because she double parked in front of his car while picking up her kids at the White Plains YMCA, police said.

Roy Puciato, 69, confronted the woman as she walked back to her car Thursday afternoon with her children, police said. He yelled and cursed at her in front of her kids, police said, because she doubled parked in front of his car for five minutes, blocking him in.

Police said Puciato continued to yell after the woman apologized, prompting her to put her kids in the car and call the police. Puciato walked up to the passenger side window of her car as she was calling the police and yelled because he felt she was moving too slowly, police said. He pushed her passenger-side mirror outward, and then pulled out a red Swiss Army knife with a three-inch blade and told her if she didn’t move her car he was going to stab her tire, police said. He later told police he was pretending to get the woman to move quicker, police said.

The woman told police her kids began crying and that the suspect leaned down as if he was going to do something. She pulled forward and he got back in his car, and then he pulled out of the parking spot, police said. He was arrested when police arrived and charged with third-degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors.
