Police Say White Plains Man Had PCP on Ferris Ave

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- White Plains officers responding to a call about an intoxicated duo on Ferris Avenue Thursday night said they found an incoherent woman sprawled out near the intersection of Hillside Terrace.

Joseph Giorgio, 34, of White Plains, was harassing EMTs examining the woman, according to police, who asked him to leave. He turned, stuffed his hands in his pockets, and refused to remove them, police said.

An officer tugged his hands out, which police said filled the air with the stench of PCP. Cops said they discovered a bag that they believed contained a substance soaked in phencyclidine, or PCP.

Giorgio was arrested and charged with one count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

His companion was sent to the hospital.
