WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. A Brooklyn man was arrested Wednesday after Nordstrom's loss prevention team pointed officers towards a Westchester Ave. bus stop where police said they discovered two $195 shirts stuffed in a bag behind the bus stop.
According to police reports, the store reported that at 8 p.m., Michael Joseph, 18, walked into a dressing room with four Burberry shirts and left the fitting room vacant and without any clothes in hand.
The Westchester Mall staff told police Joseph headed towards a Westchester Ave. bus with two shirts stuffed in a white paper bag.
Police reports said officers discovered the bag, returned the shirts, and brought Joseph to headquarters, where police found two more Burberry shirts stuffed under the Brooklyn man's Under Armour T-shirt.
Police also said Joseph had four aluminum foil strips in his pants pocket, which were similar to the tin foil pieces officers believe were wrapped around the shirts' security devices to prevent alarms from going off.
Joseph was arrested and charged with one count of petit larceny, one count of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and one count of possession of burglar's tools, misdemeanors.
