WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- People are flocking to social media to share their accounts of a building explosion and collapse in East Harlem on Wednesday morning that has reportedly killed two women and injured more than a dozen.

The explosion has also suspended Metro North service indefinitely.

Carla Marie Sanders of Yonkers told Daily Voice via Facebook that she was in Bronxville waiting for her 10:23 a.m. train to Grand Central, which she takes to school every day.

"I usually take a train into Grand Central and then walk because my building is only a couple blocks away," she wrote.

Sanders, who attends LIM College in Manhattan, said she didn't realize something was amiss until the train didn't show up on time.

According to Sanders, announcements were not made until 10:25, and the train was 20 minutes late. Once she got on the train, the conductor informed her it was only going as far as the Fordham station.

Sanders said she will be missing school Wednesday.

Many people in the Bronx and surrounding areas took to Twitter under the hashtag #EastHarlemExplosion, saying they heard or felt the explosion from their homes and offices.

Elizabeth Gonzalez (@elizabe15948) Tweeted, "I'm on 108th and First Avenue.  I heard the explosion and thought it was thunder at first."

Terrorism is unlikely, law enforcement said. However, one user said the experience was reminiscent of 9/11.
