WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Members of the White Plains community have come together and started an online fundraiser to help pay for funeral expenses for the woman killed in a head-on collision on Monday, according to LoHud.com.
Reyda LaMadrid was killed while delivering newspapers with her husband when their vehicle was slammed into head-on by an SUV driven by White Plains Firefighter Eric Refvik going the wrong way on South Lexington Ave., according to LoHud.com

LaMadrid was a native of Peru, and the family wants to return her body home for burial. Cathy Rogers-Ganns, a literacy coach at Harrison High School, where LaMadrid's son, Joseph is a sophomore, helped set up a gofundme site to raise $14,000 to help with expenses, LoHud.com said.
