WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Metro-North has released the special holiday schedule that will be in effect for Westchester County residents on Christmas New, Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
The Hudson, Harlem and New Haven trains will operate a regular weekday schedule for Tuesday, Dec. 24, but will include 20 additional getaway trains (6 on the Hudson, 3 on the Harlem and 11 on the New Haven lines) between 12 p.m. and 4:10 p.m. Peak fares will still apply on Christmas Eve.
Additional trains will be added on all three lines on weekdays between Dec. 25 and Dec. 30 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The morning and evening peak schedules will be reduced on Tuesday, Dec. 31 and early afternoon getaway trains will be added.
For those staying for the party, all passengers on trains leaving Grand Central Terminal after midnight on Jan. 1 must have their tickets purchased in advance. They will be collected prior to boarding.
Metro-North also asks that passengers refrain from bringing open containers on trains departing from Grand Central.
