WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The engineer of the Metro-North train that derailed in the Bronx, killing four and injuring dozens of others, claims he "zoned out" just before the crash, according to ABC 7.

The engineer, recently identified as William Rockefeller, was reportedly not fully asleep, "but not fully there, either" according to the article.

The train was traveling at 82 miles per hour when it went over a curve it should have been going at a maximum of 30 miles per hour, according to the NTSB.
