WESTCHESTER, N.Y. -- Metro-North has announced alternate service plans following the explosion in Harlem on Wednesday morning.
Trains are running in Connecticut and in Westchester County on the New Haven, Harlem and Hudson Lines. But service ends in the Bronx.
Customers traveling to New York City will be taken to stations in the Bronx where they can transfer to the subway to travel to Manhattan, Metro-North announced. Customers looking to travel north out of Grand Central Terminal should take the subway, which will honor Metro-North tickets.
The alternate service plan will remain in effect until further notice.
Here is a line-by-line guide for northbound Metro-North commuters:
Riders can get to and from New York City via the No. 4 subway and Metro-North's Yankees-153rd St. station.
For northbound service, customers should take the No. 5 subway to the 180th Street station and transfer to the No. 2 subway for service to 233rd Street to access the Woodlawn Metro-North station. Southbound customers can take Metro-North train to the Wakefield station and transfer to the No. 2 subway into the city. Limited local Metro-North train service will be provided between Wakefield and Fordham stations.
New Haven Line
Riders heading out of New York City should take the No. 5 subway service to the 180th Street station and transfer to the No. 2 subway for service to 233rd Street to access Metro-North's Woodlawn station. New York-bound New Haven Line service will operate to Woodlawn station, where customers can take the No. 2 subway.
There are no stranded trains, Metro-North said. Power has been cut to the third rail on all four tracks in the neighborhood of the explosion. Metro-North said customers should consider limiting travel Wednesday, if they can.
