WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. ? A Stamford, Conn., man charged with disorderly conduct in White Plains is also wanted in Georgia on charges of failing to register as a sex offender, according to a police report.
Officers spotted the suspect obstructing traffic on North Street and Glenbroke Drive on May 18. When he ignored commands to get out of the road, the report said, he was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where he was charged with disorderly conduct.
The man had no identification and refused to cooperate, police said. A finger-print check revealed that he had an outstanding warrant charging him with failure to register as a sex offender in Lawrenceville, Ga., and a warrant for a probation violation, the police report said.
He was held for court and the matter is still under investigation.
