Man, 29, Jumped by Group Outside White Plains Bar

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – An 18-year-old Mount Vernon man was arrested in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 6, and accused of assaulting a Bronx man outside of Vintage Bar in White Plains, according to a police report.

Tijuwah Jumbo was charged with second-degree assault, a class D felony.

The victim, 29, told police he was attacked by several men, who knocked him to the ground and kicked him repeatedly. When police arrived, he was still on the ground outside Vintage Bar with an injured ankle, the report said.

As he spoke with police, an employee of Vintage Bar pointed out Jumbo to a police officer as one of the men involved in the attack. The officer brought Jumbo back to the area in front of the bar, where, according to the report, the victim said, "That's one of the guys right there."

Another witness told police he saw about four males following the victim and his girlfriend and taunting them, before knocking the victim to the ground. Police didn't find the other people involved.

The victim was taken to White Plains Hospital, and Jumbo was held for court.
