Area residents can shed the heavy coats but should carry their umbrellas Wednesday and Thursday and expect hampered visibility due to patchy fog in some areas.

After a wet Tuesday, rain will resume again Wednesday, with the heaviest rainfall coming after 1 p.m. and expected to last through the evening. Areas of fog will impede visibility during that time.

The temperature will rise to 59 degrees and calm morning winds will move easterly.

The chance of rain is 100 percent with new water amounts between three-quarters and one inch possible.

Thursday, Christmas Eve, will start off with drizzle, then showers and thunderstorms will be likely in the afternoon. Morning fog will make traveling a challenge before 9 a.m.

Otherwise, expect cloudy skies throughout the day, with unseasonably warm temperature, with the mercury climbing to 70 degrees.

There is still a possibility of overnight rain Christmas Eve, mainly up until midnight under mostly cloudy skies, with the mercury dropping to around 55.

Christmas Day on Friday will be mostly sunny, with warm temperatures reaching near 61 degrees.
