The Habitat ReStore in New Rochelle will be doing more than serving repurposed and re-imagined good this week, as it acts as an emergency shelter for any and all that are negatively expected by the storm.
The spacious ReStore, which opened last year under the watchful eye of Executive Director Jim Killloran, has been stocked with water, food and additional cots, as the community braces itself for Mother Nature’s wrath, with a potentially record snowfall on the way.
According to the National Weather Service, which has issued blizzard and winter weather warnings, on Monday, there will be light snow in New Rochelle through the beginning of the afternoon, before “blizzard like conditions” hit the area through Tuesday.
“Habitat’s ReStore will be open through the storm at 659 Main St.,” Killoran said. “There will be cots, food and water available, just call (914) 403-4821.”
