WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is an annual tradition for Westchester County residents who either attend or watch on TV, but the giant balloons that have come to characterize the parade may have to be grounded, according to weather.com .
Winter Storm Boreas could produce sustained winds of 15-20 mph and gusts up to 35 mph. New York City rules state that the trademark balloons can not be in the air if sustained winds exceed 23 mph or gusts exceed 34 mph, weather.com said.
Parade officials will continue to monitor weather conditions and said it is too early to make a determination at this time, according to weather.com.
