WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Guiding Eyes for the Blind recently welcomed the return of New York Giants' quarterback Eli Manning at the Spring Tee-Off for their 38th annual Guiding Eyes for the Blind Golf Classic.

The sponsor recognition party was \at Mulino’s of Westchester in White Plains. Joined by Guiding Eyes puppies, staff and supporters, Manning was in high spirits as he mingled with the crowd and expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming Golf Classic. Returning for his ninth year as host, Manning was introduced to Guiding Eyes’ Golf Classic through family friend and Corcoran Cup champion Patrick W. Browne Jr.

“Each year that I host the Golf Classic, I’m reminded of how many people Guiding Eyes is helping to live their lives to the fullest,” said Manning. “For people without sight, teaming up with a Guiding Eyes dog can change their lives. I feel privileged to play a part in this organization and I’m regularly inspired to do more.”

The Spring Tee-Off also featured Guiding Eyes graduate and artist Emilie Gossiaux alongside her guide dog, London. Gossiaux began losing her hearing at age 5, and at age 21 she received a cochlear implant to improve it. Just a few months later – as she was riding her bike to work one morning – she was struck by an 18-wheeler semi-truck. Gossiaux was severely injured and lost her sight. To live independently as a blind person, she spent a year learning mobility and daily living skills.

Guiding Eyes pup Wrangler, who is currently being raised on the set of NBC’s TODAY show, will join Manning on the course this year to greet golfers at the Golf Classic Monday, June 8. The Golf Classic will be at Mount Kisco Country Club and Fairview Country Club in Greenwich, Conn. A limited number of foursomes are still available.

For more information on Golf Classic foursomes and hole sponsorships, contact Tricia McTernan at (914) 761-7111 or tricia@hrginc.net. Spectators are welcome at the Corcoran Cup; registration is required for gallery seating.
