Ex-Girlfriend Accused of Menacing in White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A White Plains man, 23, received a rude awakening early Sunday when his ex-girlfriend broke into his house through a window and tried to attack his current girlfriend, causing $250 worth of damage to his property, according to a police report.

The man, who has a 6-year-old son with the former girlfriend, told police that he and his current girlfriend, 20, were lying in bed around 4:30 a.m. when the ex-girlfriend, 24, began calling him. He refused to answer, but she called several more times, the report said.

Around 5 a.m., the man told police, he heard loud banging at his front door and an adjacent window, at which point he call 911. While speaking on the phone with the dispatcher, the report says, the man saw his ex-girlfriend break through the window and enter the apartment. She then charged at the plaintiff's current girlfriend with her fists up in a threatening manner and said, "I'm going to kill you," the report says.

The current girlfriend ran into the bathroom and locked herself in, leading the ex-girlfriend to kick and punch the door, which the report says caused damage. While the man restrained his ex-girlfriend, police arrived and arrested her.

She is charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and third-degree menacing. When police took her to headquarters, they found that the man had obtained an order of protection against her.
