WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – The three right lanes on South Broadway are blocked to replace electrical feeders that run underground along the one-way street.

Consolidated Edison contracted Persico Contracting & Trucking of Mount Vernon to replace three feeders, which run along streets overhead or, in this case, underground, and power the transformers that feed electricity to the buildings along South Broadway, a foreman on the site said.

Workers are replacing the old aluminum feeders with copper ones, which the foreman said last longer.

The replacement began two weeks ago at South Broadway and Main Street and is scheduled to conclude Thursday. Wednesday, Persico workers replaced the electrical feeder in front of the South Broadway entrance to the City Center parking garage.
