The office will allow you to apply for a U.S. passport, including taking photos, at Saxon Woods Park, instead of having to come to its office in White Plains.
The clerk's mobile passport unit will be at the pool at 1800 Mamaroneck Ave. from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.,Thursday.
“Most applications take only a few minutes to complete inside our fully equipped mobile passport office, and you can return to poolside in no time to cool off from the summer heat,” Westchester County Clerk Timothy Idoni said in a prepared statement.
The clerk’s community outreach staff travels throughout the county each year accepting applications. Since April, the community outreach staff has processed more than 500 passport applications in more than 20 locations in the county.
A certified copy of your birth certificate, a valid driver’s license and the fee is usually all you need. For minors under the age of 16, both parents should appear together and sign the application of the child. However, if only one parent appears and signs, that parent must submit the other parent's notarized Statement of Consent form (DS-3053) and a photocopy of their identification. The Statement of Consent form can be found at www.WestchesterClerk.com.
Once processed, routine passport applications take approximately four to six weeks and for an additional federal expedited fee, the processing time is reduced to two to three weeks. Applications also can be submitted in person at the Westchester County Clerk's Office, 110 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, White Plains. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays, except on legal holidays. You must arrive by 4:30 p.m.
