Coyle will be responsible for overseeing safety, security and reliability as the plant’s top official.

“I look forward to working alongside the 1,000 dedicated nuclear professionals at Indian Point as we strive to continue operating at the highest levels of safety and reliability,” Coyle said.

Coyle is a 32-year veteran of the nuclear power industry, serving most recently as site vice president at Entergy Nuclear’s James A. FitzPatrick nuclear power plant in Lycoming, N.Y.

Coyle previously served as general manager of plant operations at Indian Point from 2011-13.

“Larry brings a wealth of operational and management experience with him to this position at Indian Point and is strongly suited to continue leading the facility’s safe, secure and vital operations well into the future,” said Tim Mitchell, senior vice president of nuclear operations for Entergy Nuclear.

Indian Point Energy Center is home to two operating nuclear power plants, which generate approximately 2,000 megawatts of electricity for homes, business and public facilities in New York City and Westchester County.
