WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – White Plains’ Stepinac High School will receive a special visit from Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the Archbishop of New York, for a Holy Mass on Wednesday for the school’s roughly 700 students and staff.

Dolan’s visit will take place during Stepinac’s 65th anniversary year and during the Year of Faith, a commemorative time declared by Pope Benedict XVI to focus on meditation, preaching and teaching.

“This is the first time Cardinal Dolan will speak with our students,” Rev. Thomas Collins, president of Stepinac, said in a statement. “We know that the Cardinal’s visit will uplift our spirits and help us keep our focus during the Year of Faith. His visit is sure to be an unforgettable experience and memory.”

Dolan will also participate in a question-and-answer session with the students and tour the school.

“A personal visit by the Archbishop is an important moment for any Catholic School,” stated William F. Plunkett Jr., chairperson of the Board of Trustees. “Our Board and the entire Stepinac community is looking forward to not only his visit, but the opportunity to show the Cardinal firsthand how Stepinac has transitioned to a 21st century education model, while retaining our deep commitment to our faith.”
