Burke Collects Food, Coats For Food Bank, N.Y. Cares

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Burke Rehabilitation Hospital is collecting food and coats until the end of December for The Food Bank for Westchester and New York Cares.

Donations may be dropped off through the end of December in the lobby of Burke’s Wood Pavilion, 785 Mamaroneck Ave. Burke asks that donated food items aren’t perishable, haven’t expired and aren’t in glass containers.

The Food Bank for Westchester needs the following items:

  • Cans of tuna
  • Granola bars
  • Peanut butter in plastic containers
  • Shelf-stable milk
  • Cereal
  • Cheese or peanut butter sandwich crackers
  • Juice boxes
  • Crackers
  • Applesauce in plastic cups
  • Canned or dried fruit
  • Toilet paper
  • Hand sanitizer wipes
  • Tissues

New York Cares, a volunteer organization that runs programs for 1,300 nonprofits, city agencies and public schools, is based in New York City. The Food Bank for Westchester is at 200 Clearbrook Road in Elmsford.
