Beauty Pageants Returning To Westchester County

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – The Miss New York USA and Miss New York Teen USA pageants will be returning to Westchester County for a second consecutive year.

The dates of both events will be announced at an 11:30 a.m. press conference tomorrow in White Plains.

“Last year, we did it for the first time in Westchester,” said Nancy Schuster, a K2 Productions rep. “We get to have it at Purchase, which was amazing [in 2012],” she said. “It’s very accommodating and they are off at that time, which is great for us.”

Several representatives from K2 Productions, who will be producing the pageants, will be on hand at the Tuesday press conference, along with Westchester County Executive Robert Astorino and State Assemblyman Robert Castelli.

Miss New York USA 2012 (Johanna Sambucini), Miss New York Teen USA 2012 (Sabrina Mastrangelo), Sarah Hreyo (Miss Westchester 2012), and Jacqueline Groccia (Miss Westchester Teen 2012) will be at the event as well.

The officials also will touch on “the positive economic impact on area hotels, restaurants and other aspects of Westchester County’s $1.5 billion tourism industry” that the pageants have.

Schuster also was thankful to the Renaissance Hotel for providing accommodations to the contestants and their families. The press conference will be at the White Plains-based hotel. Both pageants previously had been in Albany.
