Hopefuls are lining up, including three current judges who would have to give up their seats to seek the job, at least two other former Westchester prosecutors, and even one of DiFiore's deputies, reported lohud.com.

Hearings on her nomination are not expected until January, said lohud.com.

Once confirmed, her position would be filled on an interim basis until the winner of an election in November 2016 takes office in January 2017, added lohud.com.
