ArtsWestchester's Door Smashed in White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. --ArtsWestchester's glass door at 31 Mamaroneck Ave. was damaged last week with a blunt object, causing it to crack in a web-type design that will cost $400 to repair, according to a police report. 

The nonprofit group reported the incident occurred sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 4 a.m. on May 31. Police were told there are no surveillance cameras outside the building.

In another incident, White Plains police responded to a report of a shoplifter on May 31 at Gucci, in The Westchester mall. The store manager told police a man stole a bathing suit, worth $500, from a display rack and hid it in his waistband under his shirt. The store manager described the suspect as a black male, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, approximately 150 pounds, between the ages of 18 and 25. He said the suspect was wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and possibly a Yankees hat when he entered the store around 10:40 a.m.
