WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced all lanes of the New York State Thruway will remain open through Sunday in an effort to ease congestion.
The “Drivers First” initiative, which gives priority to motorists by ensuring that disruptions associated with highway and bridge projects are kept as minimal as possible.
Work will continue on the new Tappan Zee Bridge, but none of the projects will require lane closures.
Concrete for foundations near the South Nyack shoreline will be acquired from local concrete suppliers while authorities continue to investigate the cause of a recent collapse at one of the floating concrete plants.
