WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The Women’s Club of White Plains has announced the date for its annual fall fund raiser, featuring a chance to experience some of the best local cuisine Westchester County has to offer.

The Women’s Club of White Plains Foundation will host its Corks and Forks fund raiser on Sept. 18 at the CV Rich Mansion, 305 Ridgeway, White Plains, N.Y. Attendees will have a chance to sample signature dishes from many local restaurants.

Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit El Centro Hispano, an integral part of White Plains for over 41 years.

“We are pleased to support El Centro Hispano and their mission to assist the Hispanic community in their integration into American culture,” said Women’s Club of White Plains Foundation President Christine Roithmayr in a statement.

El Centro Hispano offers 25 programs aimed at changing the lives of the Hispanic community through endeavors such as education, technology, services, cultural events, outreach, counseling and empowerment through special activities. Its programs include: English as a second language, high school equivalency prep, computer classes, tutorial and mentoring programs, scholarships to graduating high school seniors, literacy support for their youngest clients, Girl and Boy Scout troops, educational and informational workshops, weekly food distribution, free legal and Affordable Care Program assistance, sponsorship of cultural events, translation services and assistance in finding housing and jobs, said the Women’s Club in a statement.

Event organizers encourage you to purchase your tickets early, as last year’s event sold out. Visit womansclubofwhiteplains.org for tickets and more information. More information on El Centro is available at elcentrohispano.org .
