A graduate of Maria Regina High School and Pace University, Palmer majored in biology with hopes of attending medical school.
“I can remember sitting on my living room floor as a young child watching the Miss USA pageant along with my sister, Kaitlyn, and being in awe of the poise and confidence of the beautiful contestants. I vowed at that moment to pursue my own journey to the crown when God presented the opportunity to me. Thankfully, I am finally in a place both professionally and personally where I can represent my region whole-heartedly.”
Palmer says she is very passionate about the Miss Supranational Organization because it gives women the opportunity to gain confidence while showcasing their public speaking skills and community service involvement which together allows for massive personal growth.
“My hope is that during my year of service I will be able to travel throughout the greater New York area to provide mentorship to young women interested in pursuing the sciences. In addition, I will use my experiences as an aspiring physician to inspire young women to pursue careers in the sciences regardless of their socioeconomic or racial background. My ultimate goal is to shatter stereotypes about women in S.T.E.M. and inspire young women to excel in all aspects of life.”
Palmer, who is of Jamaican decent has also excelled in athletics and served as a professional cheerleader with the NY-based Gotham City Cheerleaders and as a youth cheerleading coach for various teams in Westchester County. Palmer is also an avid writer and currently serves as a contributor for both Cheer Living Magazine and the renowned pageantry blog, The Pageant Planet.
Outside of pageantry, Palmer is extremely focused on humanitarian service and is a frequent volunteer at the Pets Alive Animal Shelter in Elmsford and Blythedale Children’s Hospital. Her platform is aptly named “The S.T.E.M. Revolution – Inspiring Young Women to Pursue the Sciences” and it focuses on increasing female participation in the sciences through diligent mentoring and early exposure to science.
“It is my belief that a pageant queen’s ultimate job is to serve her community. Therefore, I am determined to use my platform to bring awareness to various organizations such as the March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society,'' Palmer said. "I hope to be remembered as a woman who inspired others to become their best selves and achieve their ultimate goals.”
