WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. Mary Dorothy "Dottie" Ward, of White Plains, died Dec. 3 at the age of 59.
She was born May 17, 1952 in Bronxville, the eldest child of William and the late Helen Burke Ward. In 1955, she moved with her family to Middlesex, N.J. and then to White Plains in 1963.
Ward attended St. John the Evangelist and Good Counsel High School. She received a bachelor's degree in history from the College of White Plains and was working as a marketing consultant.
An accomplished photographer and world traveler, Ward documented her trips with photos from all continents. She was also a lifelong New York Yankees fan and a parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in White Plains.
She is survived by her father Bill Ward, her sisters Sharon (Jerry) Fitzmaurice, Claire (Bob) Satenberg, Anne (Bob) Jordan and Rosemarie (Eric) Sanders, her brothers Thomas (Michaela) Ward and Bill (Mary) Ward, a sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother and her brother Kevin Ward.
Callings hours are from 2 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at McMahon, Lyon & Hartnett Funeral Home in White Plains. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla.
