Simone, Ex-White Plains FD Lieutenant, Dies at 82

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Former White Plains Fire Department Lt. Frederick M. Simone died Dec. 28 at the age of 82.

He was born Jun. 14, 1929 in White Plains to John and Cecelia Faulkner Simone. From 1947 to 1949, he served in the US Army in the Signal Corps.

For over 38 years, Simone served as lieutenant for the White Plains Fire Department before retired in 1989. He was member of the Elks Lodge in Brigantine, N.J. and American Legion Post 135 in White Plains.

He is survived by his sons Fred and Keith Simone, his daughter Debbie Lindhjem, his brother John Simon, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Simone was predeceased by his wife Joan and his daughter Michelle.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at McMahon, Lyon & Hartnett Funeral Home in White Plains. The funeral mass will be on Saturday at 10 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Church, followed by interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in White Plains.
