WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Rocco Romeo of White Plains died Feb. 1 at White Plains Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was 86.
The son of Santa and Domenico Romeo, he was born in Reggio Calabria, Italy on Jan. 6, 1936. He married Carmela Faraone in Italy in 1954 and later moved to White Plains. He worked as a custodian for the White Plains Board of Education 21 years, before retiring in 1991. His favorite past times were fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his wife Carmela, his son Raymond Romeo of Hartsdale, his daughter Sandy Romeo Farduchi of White Plains, his sister Rosa Bonazza of Italy and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Dominick Romeo and son-in-law Antonio Farduchi.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday at McMahon, Lyon & Hartnett Funeral Home in White Plains. The funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in White Plains. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
