WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – The White Plains Recreation and Parks Department’s annual Halloween Tricks & Treats will take place from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, more than one week after Hurricane Sandy forced the city to postpone the Oct. 31 event.
All White Plains ghosts, goblins, witches, and other trick-or-treaters are invited to Gillie Park at the intersection of Gedney Way and Mamaroneck Avenue, where families can enjoy ghost stories, spin and candy art and other activities. There also will be a DJ and a video arcade trailer, where up to 20 children can play one of three different video games. Additionally, every child that attends will receive a bag of candy.
However, this year there will be no haunted hay maze.
White Plains had its traditional track-or-treat night Oct. 31, but postponed the city-backed event because of Hurricane Sandy-related concerns.
