Fumagalli, Former White Plains Clerk, Dies at 98

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Emily C. Fumagalli, a longtime resident of White Plains, died Dec. 13. She was 98.

Born Jan. 12, 1913 in Mt. Vernon, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Annunziata Covino. Fumagalli worked as a senior clerk for the local lines of the New York Telephone Company in New Rochelle from 1930 to 1944.

Fumagalli was a former resident of Eastchester. She'd enjoy entertaining for her family. and was also said to enrich her knowledge of finance, politics and currents events through reading newspapers daily.

She is survived by her daughter Clare L. Erland, her son Frank J. Fumagalli, her sister Madeline Adimari and two grandsons. She was predeceased by her husband Frank Fumagalli in 1976 and her sisters Mary Covino Freeman and Gilda Covino Smith, her brothers Guido Covino and Nicholas Covino and a granddaughter.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Hawthorne Funeral Home . The funeral mass will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Valhalla, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in New Rochelle.
