Former Westchester DA Secretary O'Lear Dies at 76

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Marilyn J. O'Lear, a former legal secretary from White Plains, died Feb. 18. She was 76.

O'Lear was a retired legal secretary from the Westchester County District Attorney's Office.

She was born Sept. 3, 1935 in Yonkers to the late George and Helen O'Lear. From 1978 to 1986, she worked as a legal secretary for O'Connor, McGuiness, Conte, Doyle, Oleson & Collins law firm in White Plains. O'Lear then worked for the district attorney's office from 1987 until her retirement in 1999. She was most recently a resident of Tarrytown.

Surviving are her brother George O'Lear and his wife Toni Glikes and a niece. She was predeceased by her sister Frances Sorapure.

Visitation hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home in White Plains.  A funeral mass will take place at St. John the Evangelist Church at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
