WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. Lawrence J. Winters, former White Plains Police Department lieutenant, died Jan. 30. He was 54.
The son of Lawrence and Anna Winters, he was born in New York City. He married Eleanor Herrera on Aug. 31, 1957. Winters was lieutenant for the City of White Plains Police Department and retired after 32 years.
Most recently of Mohegan Lake, N.Y., he was member of the Westchester Emerald Society, Fraternal Order of Police and the Yorktown Elks Club.
Winters is survived by his wife Eleanor, his daughters Ellen, Diane, Evelyn, Patty, his son Lawrence, his brothers Edward and Hugh Winters and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Yorktown Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church at 10 a.m. on Thursday. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
