The books were distributed to Lincoln-Titus, Van Cortlandtville and George Washington Elementary Schools last week. Each third-grader received a copy of “A Student's Dictionary” and each fifth-grader received a copy of “Webster's Thesaurus.”

Each year, the Mahopac National Bank makes grants available to local Rotary Clubs to use in the community for literacy projects. This year, the Cortlandt Manor Rotary helped to make the donations to the three elementary schools.

Books were distributed by Sue Foote, branch manager from Mahopac National Bank in Putnam Valley, and Cortlandt Manor Rotarians Gladys Muller Pres, Bradley Nelson, Rita Sharples, Laura Jean Odell, Herb Winkelmann and Sharon Irving.
