Ann O'Sullivan, 86, Former White Plains Resident

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — Ann P. O’Sullivan, a former longtime resident of White Plains, died May 26. She was 86.

A resident of Ardsley since 2006, she served as religious-education director for St. Patrick’s Church in Armonk.

O’Sullivan was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to George and Anna Murray Zegers. On Aug. 13, 1948, she married James O’Sullivan in Brooklyn. After decades of working as an insurance underwriter, O’Sullivan enrolled at Mercy College and then pursued a master of arts degree in religious studies through St. Joseph’s Seminary. 

She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Salamone and Lois Kearnes; and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, James; a son, Robert; and her siblings. 

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at McMahon, Lyon and Hartnett Funeral Home in White Plains. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in White Plains, with the Rev. John Quinn officiating. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
