Nearly 200 people, including some previous scholarship winners, attended and supported the event, which included luncheon, fashion show and silent auction. Teachers, students, Woman’s Club members and members of the White Plains school board modeled spring fashions from LOLA New York, Bloomingdale’s, Katules, Steilmann European Fashion, Gabriella and Fiamor Boutique.
The event honored two women: former teacher, volunteer leader and philanthropist Barbara Dannenberg; and Paula Dalto, White Plains school district consumer science teacher and high school student activities coordinator.
“The Woman’s Club is pleased to honor these two extraordinary women who have worked tirelessly throughout the years to benefit youth in our community and help them reach their dream of attending college,” said Ybelize Pilate, event chairwoman and foundation board member.
The Woman’s Club continues its 60-year tradition of providing scholarships to students in White Plains and will be donating 100 percent of the net proceeds of the event to scholarships for deserving students. The 2015 scholarship recipients will be announced in May.
